Years ago I was the "Deputy" manager working on a project team, like the XO. We had a dress code, no jeans in the office. We had an employee come in wearing jeans, again. People complained, to me. I went to the boss, told him I was going to send the person home to change. Issue was, the boss was wearing jeans too. I told him it was hard to enforce a policy he was not even complying with. He snapped back agressively, "no one is going to tell me what to wear!"

PS - I also told him if wearing jeans didn't matter lets revise the policy. He didn't want to do that either.
