No not dead, never will be. It is however being reinvented. Sometimes it just takes time.

Was in Nashville a little while back, visited the ‘strip’ with all the Honky Tonks (was surprised it was more Rock the Country), also went to Grand Ol Oprah (also had some Rock artists). Next night we went to a small club off the strip. After a couple of warm up bands (Folk and Country), the Vandoliers came out. Wow, a punch in the face. Decidedly Rock n Roll. If you get a chance see them live. Rock certainly not dead with them.
