More thoughts - at this nice restaurant, our server was excellent. She took our order, for my wife and I plus our adult son, without writing anything down.

When she left the table, my wife observed, “She didn’t write anything down.”

She got it all correct, no issues at all.

My wife relayed a story from earlier in the week when she went out to another nice restarurant with her co-workers. The waiter there too didn’t write the orders down. One of the customers, clearly not a guest, actually said to the waiter, “you need to write this down.”

Being a good customer, a good guest, can be a two-way street.
