In the days of the past, one's youthful (immature) narcissistic tendencies were checked by society. In the past, in the absence of 24/7 cell phones and social media, one's advancement in society depended on their ability to navigate social interactions in person, on the job, or on the team.

Today, in particular, in our youth, in-person social interaction is greatly reduced or even needed. One can achieve likes and followers, or post opinions at their leisure and free of consequences.

In-person social interactions are no longer needed, jobs are remote, and (sports or club) teams are far less prevalent.

Be nice, work at it!
